The Thanksgiving Dinner From Costco You’ll Want to Buy This Fall Because It’s Too Good

Costco sold a Thanksgiving dinner with all the steps, ready to eat, several years ago - Here's why it's my favorite so far

Costco ready-to-eat Thanksgiving dinner

For two consecutive years I have been buying the ready-made Thanksgiving dinner from Costco, because it is one of the best options I have found in the Market even though there are others and because it comes all resolved and prepared ready to receive my family who comes from various parts of the country.

In case you didn’t know, Costco has been selling a ready-to-eat Thanksgiving dinner for many years with all the steps and ingredients properly precooked and packaged, all you have to do is heat them and serve them.

Costco’s Thanksgiving Dinner Makes Everything Easier

For years, I’ve spent many hours in the kitchen preparing these complicated Thanksgiving dishes.  I say I love the celebration and I think it is one of my favorite family gatherings all year because we get together to give thanks for the blessings we have each received this year and to also give thanks for the blessings of others.

It is not only an excuse to get together as a family and see each other. Because many of us live at long distances, but in my case it is a way to thank my family for the support and for the affection we share. Two years ago, It was the first time I bought Costco’s prepared Thanksgiving dinner with a little reservation because I thought everything was too industrial and lifeless, but I couldn’t be more wrong.

OMG, This Turkey Is So Juicy I Couldn’t Believe It!

To start, the turkey breast comes from those carefully raised on Amish farmers’ farms.  They enjoy a quiet life in open houses, eating a natural diet based on fresh grains and totally natural vegetables.

Jesus, look at that turkey!

No hormones or antibiotics are used in its breeding, which guarantees that the meat is completely healthy and natural. They are certified by Humane Farm Animal Care, which guarantees that the animal did not suffer abuse at any time in its life. Pre-brined and tied, they arrive at your table ready to enjoy, accompanied by a delicious sauce.

The Gravy Sauce That Spices Up That Juicy Turkey

The gravy that comes with Costco’s prepared dinner is thick and flavorful, perfect for combining with turkey and even mashed potatoes (oh, the mashed potatoes, we’ll get to that later).

The turkey is the star of the dinner

Its characteristic and unique flavor is given by a mixture of ingredients that I have not been able to decipher.  In fact, I have tried to imitate it at home and I have never been able to achieve that balanced and slightly salty texture, without being too invasive, which allows you to enjoy the flavor of the turkey breast on its own.

Grandma’s Mashed Potatoes: It’s Almost the Same, Seriously

Without Grandma having to spend long hours peeling, boiling, crushing and seasoning her historic mashed potatoes, this Costco dinner already includes it and every time I eat it I am transported back to my childhood when Grandma Martha made me some delicious mashed potatoes with a couple of sausages that Grandpa Chuck made himself.

It comes frozen, and I personally put it in a saucepan with a splash of olive oil and over low heat begins to defrost it.  Be careful not to overcook it because it can dry out and lose all that greasiness and moisture perfectly achieved during production.

A Full Dinner for the Whole Family, Nothing Missing

Costco’s Thanksgiving dinner also comes with all the necessary steps for that comfort food moment you’ve been waiting for. It comes with sweet corn already washed, cut, and cooked, as well as a warm green bean casserole ready to defrost and eat

A Thanksgiving classic, it is the turkey stuffing that will transport you to the family celebrations of your childhood. It’s made with crumbled cornbread, buttermilk, eggs and the authentic flavor of chicken broth, combined with fresh celery and onion. A secret blend of traditional spices from the time makes it one of the best I have personally tried.

The dinner is completed with twelve gourmet dinner rolls, to finish cleaning the gravy off the plate and not leaving anything behind, and a cranberry sauce seasoned with spices such as cinnamon and cardamom (which I usually use in a turkey sandwich with leftovers, the day after). Oh, it also contains mac n’ cheese… you don’t know where to start or where to end!

The Best for Last: Dessert

After you’ve had that delicious turkey with gravy, cranberry sauce, green beans and sweet corn, if your stomach is a little sluggish, this family pack includes an apple pie, made with Michigan Northern Spy apples and a crunchy crumb topping, but also a handmade pumpkin pie

Pumpkin pie, with its distinctive spicy flavor and flaky crust, is an homage to traditional recipes passed down from generation to generation. I bought it separately, because it is one of my favorites from the fall season.
