I love entertaining friends on Halloween! Every year I organize a small gathering at home and try to make everything have that spooky, but fun touch. And of course, between the decorations, the costumes, and the activities, sometimes I feel like I lack time to dedicate to the most important thing: the food. But the real issue is that my friends are gluttons, they like good food. Let’s see, what’s a Halloween party without something delicious to snack on? So, to make it easier and not turn into a zombie from cooking (yes, it’s not a costume), I head straight to Aldi to look for those themed foods that are already ready.
Because Halloween is my favorite food prep season, along with Thanksgiving, and Christmas, and New Year’s, and the 4th of July… if there’s one thing I love more than pumpkin decorations, it’s the foods that make everything looks like something out of a horror movie. But without the effort! You just put them on the table and that’s it, as if you were a master chef of the paranormal. These are the foods that I already went to buy at Aldi to receive friends this October 31st.
Halloween-Ready Snacks for Less Than $7 at Aldi
To start, I always set my guests a table with some classic snacks like these fun ones UTZ cheese balls I bought them at Aldi for only $6.98 for a 23-ounce jar. There are a lot of them and they laugh a lot but it also depends on how much your friends eat.
They have an intense cheese flavor, and you will want to lick your fingers afterwards. The good thing is that they are gluten-free, so anyone can eat them, even those who have celiac disease.
In another bowl I throw a mixture of these blue corn tortilla chips, which are also gluten-free and verified non-GMO, and come with delicious sea salt flakes, and on the side, Pretzel Mini Twists from Clancy’s. Tortilla chips are $2.55 and pretzels are $1.75.
The Halloween Sweets Table: My Must-Have Aldi Staples
Aldi had just what I needed to add that sweet and spooky touch to my Halloween celebration with my gluttonous friends. One of my favorites for these dates is the Bake Shop Pumpkin Cake Roll.
It is a soft pumpkin cake, filled with a fluffy buttercream and covered with a light layer of powdered sugar. It’s so good that you could slice it and watch it disappear in seconds, or hide it and keep it for yourself (I buy one for private use, and I recommend it, because everyone will attack it like vampires).
Another must-have for the Halloween table are the Lofthouse Harvest Frosted Sugar Cookies. These sugary cookies come decorated with festive icing, perfect for effortlessly adding that spooky, fall touch to the party. In addition, their soft texture makes them irresistible. I guarantee that your guests will fight for the last one, it’s already happened to me.
And if you want something that’s both fun and delicious, Little Debbie Fall Party Cakes are ideal. It’s a moist yellow cupcake layered with creamy, sweet cream filling, deliciously covered in white frosting that’s sure to vanish like a ghost in the fog of a cemetery. Festive fall sprinkles add an extra touch of fun to these classic cakes that are $3.19 at Aldi for a 10-count box.
